Week 17

Weekly Sketch

Robin Hood used for Target Practice

after having caught Robin the sheriffs men decided that they would have some sport and find out if Robin enjoyed being shot at  for a change.

The word “sheriff” is a contraction of the term ‘Shire’ and ‘reeve’ . The word ‘reeve’ is a name for the kings official and ‘shire’ is just an area of land. In the Robin Hood movies the sheriff is evil but in reality a sheriff acted as a judge who would travel around and hold trials. People forget that in the Robin Hood stories Robin was a killer and a thief. He even once cut of the head of Guy of Gisborne slashed his face and stuck it on the tip of his bow. Perhaps the sheriff had a good point.
