Acrylic on canvas 40cm x 50cm. This is the old WR Parker Metal Worker factory in New Bartholomew Street, Birmingham UK, established in 1921. I was walking around with my camera intending to take photos of the graffiti that is painted on a building down the street when I saw this place. I liked the texture of the bricks and how used the place felt.
40cm by 50cm Acrylic on canvas. This is the view from my living room window. I like the way the shadows framed the image.
Ice Window. 40 cm by 50 cm . Acrylic on canvas. This was a photo I took from my bedroom window a few years ago. We haven’t had snow in Birmingham UK for few years so I thought I would paint this as a reminder.
40cm by 50cm Acrylic on canvas. This is open market here in Birmingham UK. I don’t often buy anything here I just like all the colours of the fruits and vegetables stacked up in boxes
Acrylic on canvas. 40cm by 50cm. I was walking through the Open Market in Birmingham UK. When I saw this old man. I started to imagine who he was and where he came from, if he was happy and surrounded by friends and family or alone and invisible to all the other people at the market that day.
Shed Shelves. 40cm x 50cm Acrylic on canvas.
This is a painting of the inside of my Dads work shed at the top of the garden. There is nothing of value here yet nothing is thrown away. Half empty paint cans, boxes with rusty screws, broken things all have there own place on shelves which are bending under the weight.
40cm by 50cm Acrylic on canvas. this is a secluded area on the Stratford upon Avon canal in Birmingham uk (52°24’45.5″N 1°54’05.8″W) I had to give the map coordinates as there is no other reference for it on a map that I could find. These stairs lead to the side of the canal where the Barges (narrow flat bottomed boats which carried goods in the industrial revolution) could be moored up. Just to the left of this picture is the entrance to a tunnel which the boats would have to travel through in the pitch black.
I have worked hard to eliminate an obsessive compulsive disorder. An eco of this can be seen in my desire to paint all the leaves that I could see in the photo I took for this painting. I am quite pleased with the results of this painting. I have a pleasant memory of painting it.
